Rules and Legal
Rule Enforcement
Unsafe behavior will not be tolerated at Lazer Events.
Violations of the rules will result in the loss of game privileges for individuals
breaking the rules, suspension of game activities, and possible cancellation of the
event.
Safety
Lazer Events is a safe activity for children ages 8 and older. However, like
many sports activities, running, jumping, and active play is often involved.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that a safe play environment
is available, and that participants in Lazer Events are of appropriate age and physical
condition for the game environment.
There are no real lasers used in Lazer Events; the taggers only use infrared light
similar to that of a television or DVD remote. This eliminates the possibility
of eye damage due to intense laser beams. No laser pointers or laser sights
will be permitted on the playing field.
Lazer Events is a non-contact sport. Players are not to tackle, push, pull,
trip, or otherwise make physical contact with any other player.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure adequate water or other hydration
is available to prevent heat or dehydration injuries. During cold weather
or rainy events, the customer must provide a place for participants to dry-off or
warm-up.
Game Location
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that a suitable game location
is provided. All hazardous and off-limits areas are to be clearly marked by
the customer. The customer is responsible to obtain all necessary permissions
and
permits, and to pay all site rental fees for the play area.
Lazer Events serves the New River Valley area of Virginia. All game locations
more than 20 miles from Christiansburg, Virginia will have additional fees for travel
to and from the location.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all necessary authorities
and surrounding groups are notified that a Lazer Event is in progress.
It is the customer's responsibility to ensure all rented or borrowed areas are cleaned
after the departure of Lazer Events. Clean-up fees of $100 per hour
plus any cleanup expenses or fines will apply if Lazer Events personnel are
required to clean up the area after the customer has left the game location.
Law Enforcement
In the event that a Law Enforcement officer arrives to conduct an investigation
at a Lazer Event, all participants are to immediately drop their taggers on the
ground and raise their hands in the air. Under no circumstances should a participant
point a tagger at a Law Enforcement officer or other armed individual.
Bad Weather
If bad weather or other condition makes the playing area unusable, the customer
may elect to move the activity to an alternate safe area, indoors or outdoors.
No extension of event duration will be granted to compensate for time used to relocate
the event.
Alcoholic Beverages
Alcoholic Beverages are prohibited from Lazer Events. Consumption of alcoholic
beverages by participants or spectators are grounds for immediate cancellation of
the event.
Equipment Loss or Damage
The customer is responsible for any and all damage to and loss of Lazer Events
equipment that occurs at the customer's event. Customers will replace materials
at the current replacement cost for equipment (including shipping, handling, and
taxes) in comparable condition before damage or loss occurs.
A refundable deposit may be required for certain equipment and events.
Cancellations
If, due to bad weather or other causes beyond the control of Lazer Events, a Lazer Event must be cancelled, the following
rules apply:
- If the cancellation occurs after 1 hour after the scheduled
start of the event, no refund or compensation is due under any circumstances.
- If a cancellation occurs before 1 hour has elapsed after
the scheduled start of the event, an alternate date and location may be agreed
upon by the customer and Lazer Events, subject to date availability. The duration
of the rescheduled event will be for one hour less than the originally scheduled
event. No refunds will be given if a reasonable arrangement cannot be
made.
- If a cancellation occurs before the event begins, an alternate
date and location may be agreed upon by the customer and Lazer Events, subject to
date availability. The duration of the rescheduled event will be the same
as the originally scheduled event. No refunds will be given if a reasonable
arrangement cannot be made.
- Lazer Events reserves the right to cancel all or any part
of the event without refund due to rule or safety violations.
Liability
Under no circumstances will Lazer Events be held liable for injury, death, property
damage, or loss of life or property at a Lazer Event. The customer is responsible
for maintaining sufficient liability insurance for the entire Lazer Event.
If the customer notes unsafe activity on the part of Lazer Events, it is the customer's
responsibility to bring this to the attention of Lazer Events and/or cancel the
event or halt the unsafe activity.
